Scott Sleith - A Rant - February 2010.
It's January, a new year, a new beginning blah blah.
I'm usually quite an upbeat kind of guy so maybe it's just the January blues that makes me want to have a good rant about a few things.
So let's get started.
I'm going to start my rant by moaning about our own fans.
I do agree our fans are the most LOYAL fans in the world but boy do we like complaining (and yes I know that's what I'm doing now ).
I am sick and tired of listening to the real radio phone-in and hearing the RANGERS SUPPORTERS TRUST spouting a load of shit.
The spokesman for the RST has constantly over the past few years been demanding Sir David Murray sells he club and how he single handed ruined our great club...bullshit .
This guy, it seems to me ,has a personal agenda against SDM , probably because SDM won't give him a seat on the board.
Yes SDM has made mistakes over the years.. Who hasn't.?
Yes SDM has looked after his own businesses and interlocked them with Rangers...who wouldn't.?
If you look at his 20 year reign it is pretty clear that the first 10 years were a lot more successful and fun than the second 10 years.
In fact looking back the first decade was absolutely brilliant, and we all love looking back at our success and the great players we watched.
As I have said previously on this site we all bought into a dream ... a dream of European success and a field of great players.SDM gave us what we all wanted at the time and I for one cannot remember the RST demanding he go then.
The other thing this group fail to realise is that SDM HAS been trying to sell the club over the past 3 years...NO ONE IS STEPPING UP TO THE MARK.
Another thing that annoys me about the RST is that they decided to launch their WE DESERVE BETTER CAMPAIGN last season when we were fighting it out with Timmy for the league.
Yes we deserve better but was this the right time for our club to be split? NO.
They now seem to be launching a campaign against the LLOYDS banking group for not walking away from the millions we owe them.
Seriously RST do you think that by making a few daft banners and speeches on Real Radio a bank will walk away from what they are owed.
It pisses me of the media coverage that this banner protest has been given because it is non-existent and I could tell them for a fact that it is a very small minority (probably about 0.1 %) and the coverage it is getting is laughable.
The RST have stated that maybe the Rangers support would boycott the Lloyd banks...firstly not everyone banks with that group and I know for a fact that if I changed banks it wouldn't be a loss to them.
Secondly with this high profile protest wouldn't it just mean Celtic fans would just leave them if LLOYDS did do us a favour?
Now if you check out the RST website you will find that they have done a lot of good in the past so I don't want to knock them too much.
I just don't think they represent the vast majority of fans and that before they start any stupid protest they should get the true feels of the majority of fans.
Remember RST....TOGETHER WE STAND
